How to easily make baby food

This is something that I never in a million years saw myself doing. For my baby registry I slapped a couple books on there just out of pure curiosity. There was one book that just turned out to be so informative and explained everything so well and was to the point. It is called The Big Book of Organic Baby Food by Stephanie Middleberg, MS, RD, CDN. She explained how easy it was to make the baby food and how to store it, when do buy it, and all the tools you will need (most of them you might already have). I highly suggest that book for any new mom. I have seen a lot of information about pre-made baby foods testing high for heavy metals (even organic ones) and I just feel more comfortable feeding my baby something that I made and I know what it contains.
At first I did buy a couple items just to get going on my stash, but typically whatever I make for my baby is something that we are eating as well. For example, tonight we are having steak, baked potato and cauliflower. I already have some frozen steak and potato chunks, but not cauliflower. So once I cook the cauliflower, I will put some in a blender for Junior with butter and a pinch of salt (yes babies need fat and salt). Once it's pureed, I will pour some for him then pout the rest into my handy dandy silicone baby food storage trays (found on Amazon) and freeze them. These are the ones I use:https://amzn.to/3s86oML once they're frozen I'll put them into a gallon or quart plastic or silicone bags and stash them in the freezer. Silicone bags I use https://amzn.to/3FtpXlB. When I want to use them I just grab them and warm them up in a small pan on low and bam. A meal for baby in 5 minutes.
You can virtually use this process for pretty much anything. Right now I am sticking with meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. Like I said we generally eat the same things, so it's easy to just whip it up really quick. I make it a goal to make one a week, sometimes it may be more but it is difficult to find time with a 7 month old. We've made it this far I guess! She also explains in the book how much to give them, when to adjust the textures, and everything in between. I try to buy mostly organic but I will admit not all of it is, and that's ok :). A couple other things linked below that I ordered when babe started solids:
